The photo is linked from the italian Aerei nella storia (Airplanes throughout history) website.... would be interesting to find out who flew the plane:

This is a well known photo from a wartime Messerschmitt calendar. I have an original copy framed and hanging on my wall... The two Rumanian 'Emils' were flown, most probably, by Lt. av. Horia Pop and Ion Galea. Dénes |

It is funny that in Black Cross/Red Star vol. I this photo is published in the Battle of Odessa chapter, although it was taken most likely sometimes in 1943, when the 52nd Squadron started to operate the Emils.

What puzzles me is that in 1943 very few Luftwaffe units still flew the 'Emil'.
Could this snap-shot be taken at the German-run Jagdfliegerschule at Galatz (Galati)? Dénes |

This picture was first used in Signal, German edition and then reused by all the others editions ( French, Italian, Romanian etc ). Later was published again by the Luftwaffe magazine Der Adler also in all editions. It seem to be very normal to be taken from the original source by all interested aviation magazines without mentioning the original source !
