I found, on YouTube, a video with the Hungarian army entering in Transylvania
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSxsOmrRI58 The song is Erdely Indulo (Transylvania March / The March of Transylvania). Interesting is that, in this video, is shown a map of ENTIRE Transylvania region as a part of Great Hungary (Not the one took in 1940) Despite the explicit horthyst atmosphere and low quality of image, the video is a good document. Are visible some M39 Csaba armored cars, some trucks that looks like German Ford, Tanks that maybe are Turan, and Miklos Horthy himself. |

The map actually shows the pre-Trianon Peace Treaty borders of the so-called 'Greater Hungary', in black, and outlined with white the parts recovered in 1939-1940, including Northern Transylvania. Gen. Dénes This post has been edited by Dénes on November 09, 2006 05:39 am |

Yes, pre Trianon map.
I think that the city is Oradea if Nagyvard means Oradea in hungarian. And after a closer look, I identified some italian CV33. I still do not know the type of the automobiles that appears here. Maybe someone knows better than me. |

Dear RHaught
The 1940 video can be found (with download posibility) on the romanian "legionar" movement. The source of the film is INA, the french "Institut National de L'Audio Visuel". The Antonescu trial and execution I think that are captures from romanian tv documentaries (what other source could be?) if you know a little bit of romanian, you wil find details about trial+execution at http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ion_Antonescu Details about Antonescu and the jews you will find, in english, at http://www.romanianjewish.org/ |
