Well, first you would have to define what numbers are you actually looking for. Operational/serviceable, unserviceable, aircraft in reserve, aircraft types within combat units or throughout ARR, etc.

Also, several important combat aircraft types are missing, like I.A.R. 39, Bf 109E, CANT Z.501, etc.

13 PZL P.7A's were interned in Romania having flown there from Poland in September 1939.

I'm looking for the total number of aircraft for each type on strength (i.e. serviceable, unserviceable, in training units, in operational units and in reserve).

Thanks,

Neil

I'm afraid that would be too tall of an order. I doubt anyone could fully and precisely answer this query related to the first day of war. I could be wrong, however...

There is a rumour that a book about first day of war, will be soon (or later) published.
Also some data you could find in the book G.A.L. (Gruparea Aeriana de lupta) from Edit. Modelism.

Yes, I am aware of that project. Nevertheless, I don't think that book will discuss every aircraft types, including non-combat and obsolete types.
