I created this topic for everyone to post pics of the most unusual WW2 tanks and vehicles... in AXIS or ALLIED use. I'll start by posting some extreme german and russian designs:

Oau!!! That KV-7-II looks like one of those cool Command and Conquer twin barrelled tanks... hm... what are those ? twin 76mm?

I think only one "Maus" was a fully operational vehicle.

There was a also one full scale model, made by wood, and able to move, but that cannot be counted as prototype.

There were also 6 in various stages of construction, but as I said, only one was a fully operational vehicle. The real speed was little over a half compared with one hoped at design.

the t-35 was a heavy tank , with a 76.2 mm howitzer , 2 turrets with 37 mm cannon , and 2 7.62 mm machinegun turrets , one of each in front and one of each in back ...
it had a crew of 10 , but it had severe drawbacks on maneuvrability .. it was very hard to turn , and had a light armour , besides this , it would of undoubtedly been the center of any battlefield , because it is pretty hard to ignore and to miss it ...
about 50-100 were made .. almost nothing ..

the calliope sherman is quite famous ...
do you know that a chinese copy of the vickers 6 ton tank was used with strapped on wings and tail asa a glider .. don't have a picture though ...

as to the sherman with the big wheels ...
i suppose it was a mine clearing variant but : and there is a big but ...
as i can see in the picture it had actually the front 2 wheels linked to the engine through a rather .. easy to damage system actually so , if it was hit seriously .. i think it was much more vulnerable that the normal sherman ...

that kv-7 looks like it has the chassis of the kv-1 tank ... have to check though ..

there is in existence a similar version as that kv-7 with 2 recoiless rifles of 106 mm , 8 shots overall , on a very light armored chassis ( armous below 30 mm ) , it was used as a tank destroyer by the jappanese in the 1960's i think ...

have to check on that too ...

ps : those 2 sherman mine clearings , look just like some of the special versions emplyed for the landing in normandy especially ...
