For the Tidal Wave mission a reporter filmed the mission from a B24 but I forgot the name and the group of the airplane. Normaly it should be three movies but the leader plane crushed in Mediteranean sea and the other over the target. But it exist some pictures very interesting from the air and even from the ground. Unfortunatly I am at work (don't tell to my boss ) and I don't remember where exactly I saw those pictures.

I only can give you 2 photos I've found, took from the attacking B24s. I don't know if they're really photos or sequences from the movie, but I couldn't find more.
Here they are: I hope that helps. V |

Check out the following site: http://www.ploesti.com
The previously mentioned site should be www.ploiesti.tk, not www.pitesti.tk |

I recently saw a DVD called ?Air Power?, in fact a recordings originally broadcast on TV. Narrator was Walther Cronkite. I thought it was more a propaganda type of movie. I remember a comment like they were met by the ?cream of Luftwaffe?, not ?second rated Romanian pilots?. Anyway, there were 3 discs and it had a section about Ploiesti; it had a lot of footage.
The James Dugan book has more pictures in it, but it tells only the American side of story. It will tell you where some airplanes crashed. One of them for instance crashed in the Ploiesti women?s jail. |

Well, Walter Kronkite is an idiot. Thank God he retired. Nice pics. The second one looks like it's a grabbed frame from a video, but no matter. |

I've found a short movie on this matter. You can download it from the following address: http://gi.grolier.com/wwii/movies/movies.html
It's about 2 minutes long, educational style, but good images. Beware, it has about 3Mb, it takes a lot of time to download, but I believe it worths it. |

Thanks Dr_V for the link. When cipiamon initiated this topic I remembered immediately this movie, but not the place where I have seen it. I then tried to find it but without success.
