They belong to a cavalry regiment indeed.
We can't see the rosettes, on the upper part of the boots, but the flag is clearly a cavalry standard, with fringes and tassels. The specific carrying belt is also visible. |

He seems to be wearing a staff badge, but I can't tell the branch of service color. It seems that they are infantry officers (in which case I suspect 1st Dorobanti Regiment), but a second opinion would be most welcomed. It is possible it is prewar, as all wear helmets with the Carol II insignia and the Steaua Romaniei Order does not seem to have swords. |

I believe this captain wears the uniform of the Royal household (Royal aid or Palace Guard Battalion). Am I right?
