The first two are Romanian gas mask canisters, copy of the German Md 38 (the other two containers). I don't know in which year they started production but in the "Instructions manual for the gas masks in use", published in 1943, is presented the "Masca romaneasca Md. cu cartus filtrant" (loosely translated: Romanian mask with filter) the mask container is very similar to the German one.

FMP was one of the three Romanian gas mask manufacture the Md32 and Md35 gas masks; the other two were Sarogaz and AGV.

An object loses its historical value if it's restored or it's altered in any other way.

Very interesting, indeed.

Victoria, can you please post some picture of the trench line, or just some landscape pictures? Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't have any photos with the trench line, but I have some photos I've taken near Oarba de Mures.I tried to make a collage out of the photos to make a panoramic view of the place.

QUOTE (Adolf Galland @ February 05, 2007 12:53 am)
Well,it's quite a long story...One of my father's great grandfather took part in the ww2 but he was sent back home by gen.Mark because he had too many kids ! Gen.Mark gave him a big metal box full of clothes, food, the Solingen parade dagger and the golden clock. The German field telephone box and the bayonet on the other hand are from my maternal grandparents. My dad found them when he and my mom were visiting them ! The bayonet was in a terrible shape, curved,my dad almost fainted when he saw it...There was even a story I heard from my grandpa that a German soldier is buried not far from their house,an SS soldier I think.I don't know if I can call all of them war relics, but the telephone box and the bayonet show signs of intense use.

Greetings I want will apply you can определитть cost of works on a putting in order (cleaning, painting) tombs Soviet the soldier. Inform me on mail Wenez58@mail.ru Probably there is a funeral organization in a place where there lives your grandfather

I didn't quite understand what you said...I contacted ONCE Romania(this is the organization which deals with war cemeteries,Russian,Romanian,German etc.) about the Russian cemetery and I'm currently waiting for a response from them. They will care for this cemetery,I'm sure and I'll keep you in touch with the news.
