Hallo Gentlemen,
a couple of weeks back I was invited to attend a function at the Novotel Hotel, Bucharest, hosted by the Irish Embassy to start the celebration for Ireland's National Day, St. Patricks Day, traditionaly held on the 17th March. So it was an excuse to dust off my medals, and attend the function, were I got to meet the Irish Ambasador, Mr. Craddock, and an Irish Minister, Mr. Ahearn, lots of food, drink etc was supplied to the 300 or so, invite only, guests from the Irish Community living in Romania, as well as some Romanian business people and varous people from foreign embassy's conected with trade and business. That day the 16th of March, it was to late to go to the museum, so I made contact with C-2 (Claudiu) who gave up some of his free time on the 17th of March, to show my step-son and me the way to the museum and guide us around inside. in my normal attire, less medals I was very impressed that there was so much to see, the displays inside were very well laid out and easy to follow the descriptions, the down-side not having enough time to take more pictures, or see any display of Decorations or Medals With regards one of the displays, can any forum member identify this display?? I am especially interested in what all the ribbons are for, some I know, but not all. Many thanks for any help, I can say with regards the museum its well worth a vist, and I have posted a lot of pictures over at the Gentlemens Military Interest Club where I am the host of the lounge section. I know for sure I will be back for a visit, soon Kevin in Deva. This post has been edited by New Connaught Ranger on March 29, 2007 07:20 pm |
