Dear friends,

I found out that at the beginning of the war, a certain Division (8th Division), was made up of 3 infantry brigades, 1 artillery brigade, etc ... and one 63 mm mountain battery and also three 53 mm batteries. I wonder if anyone could tell me what kind of weapons were these? What production? Maybe a link to a photo?

Thanks a lot!

Cipri

I believe the 53 mm guns where Gruson. According to Istoria artileriei romane, they were removed from the fortifications along Focsani-Namoloasa-Braila and organized in batteries of 6 pieces.

Here is a link for 53 mm Gruson guns (note the "Rumunia 1917" picture)

The 63 mm were Armstrong model 1883 guns.
