A La-9 is on display at the National Military Museum, if I am not mistaking.

Yes, i know this. FOrtunatelly after a small adventure searching the location of this museum... when i was close to reach Otopeni on foot march, i found it near Caro hotel. I have that Modelism International issue with the article and pictures & drawings with La-9/11 where they sayed about one at the museum. That was the "first contact". I like this plane! smile.gif

But, some more informations? How many La-9 where in RoAF?

You are confusing the Air Museum with the National Military Museum. The on on Fabrica de Glucoza Str. (near Hotel Caro) is the Air Museum. I was referring top the National Military Museum's aircraft pavillion.

As for more informastion, I don't have much. It was intended to replace the aging Bf-109Gs, but it itself was quickly replaced by the MiG-15s and Yak-23s

As far as I know, we never had any La-11, only La-9. The first 5 arrived in 1950, along with 5 La-9 UTI two-seater trainers. They were indeed meant to replace the Me-109G-6, but in fact La-9 served along side it, until both types were rapidly replaced by jets (foremost MiG-15s) in the early-mid 50’s. The Romanians made the conversion on it at Tecuci airfield.

The example preserved at the Aviation Museum in Pipera has the board number white 66:

At Military Museum in that pavillion is an Yak, i think. And if i don't confuse... it is an Yak 11, monoplace from 'aviatia sportiva' or something like that. I don't remember to well.
