Hi,
Does anyone know something about the defence of Timisoara against the retreating German troops from Yugoslavia after 23 august 1944? Any information on this matter would be appreciated. Best regards AGC |

You can see in the picture Romanian students from the “Politehnica” University in Timisoara during their army training in 1944. They where assigned to the 6th heavy artillery regiment and took part in the fight around Timisoara later in September 1944.

The students from the “Politehnica” University in Timisoara had two days at week military training, theoretical and front training. After the graduation they where all reserve artillery officer.

September 1944 near Timisoara, waiting for a German attack. Te canon is a 105mm Krupp field howitzer model 1898/09.
