After a lot of running around after papers, time and money; today I got my first rifles two Mosin Nagant M44.

Both m44s are made in 1945 by Izhevsk with laminated stocks and are in good condition (the rifles were not stored in crates but stacked one on top of the other this explaining the big number of scratches on the stocks). But the bluing is in very good condition and the four serial numbers match (on the barrel, the bolt body, the floorplate and the butt plate).

With the rifles came two M91/30 straps.

The cleaning kit is for Mosin Nagant but it is made in Hungary, I had it before.

Disassemble pictures (the disassembly was done using only the screwdriver from the original kit):

Very impressive start of your collection. Congratulations.

Are these rifles deactivated, or ready to fire?

Do you know anything about their stories?

There probably post war rebuilts. I own 3 Russian Mosin Nagant, and there all in new shape. After there service life, the Soviets rebuilt those outdated weapons and stored them for communist backed guerilla forces. They also rebuilt captured German rifles and stored them. A lot of those are coming on the surplus market!

I bought one of those rifles , too.Judging thr barrell rifling , the bolt head, the lack of use of all internal parts, and even the serial number matching to all parts, they are brand new, not arsenal rebuilt

I hope that he has less trouble finding a Romanian VZ24 than I had finding a Canadian-made Lee-Enfeild!!!!!!!!

It might be,... There are some VZ 24 and K98 used by hunters, for hunting, but from time to time they appear on the market many times overpriced and some times modified. So finding one might take a long time.

There are plenty of Kar 98's (fabrication 1936-1945) available in North America for prices starting at $200 - $250. These are prices for good condition, firing rifles. Pretty cheap, if you ask me...

Mosing-Nagants start at $99.

One note: These are dealer's prices I'm quoting, not retail prices.

The prices aren’t too big but add transport duties and taxes: 100% blink.gif(I'm not kidding, my country is run by apes sad.gif ), and the prices don’t seem cheap any more.

congrats mihnea!

Own a 1917 Eddystone made 11/1918; a WWII British .303 late war and I have a k98 DOU 44 that I use doing German and Romanian impressions.

The Eddystone was a gift but think $200, the .303 was given to me when my grandmother passed and the k98 was given to me by my other grandparents (grandmother's cousin brought it back from the war and I used to deer hunt with it biggrin.gif )
