A Lucky Find At The Flea Market...

Greetings Gentlemen,

I'm new to the forum, specifically because I've found it necessary to take a crash-course in Romanian medals as a result of last weekend's trip to the local flea market. I found what I first thought was an Italian WW2 regimental medal, but upon returning home and researching it, was pleasantly surprised to learn I had discovered a Michael the Brave Order 3rd Class (and it cost a very tiny amount of money!!). I was very impressed by the aesthetic beauty of this medal. I was wondering about a few questions: 1. What is the usual suspension method for this medal? 2. Are there miniature medals also? 3. The number of awards is well published, but is it known how many examples survive in collections?

Thanks for that. By 'suspension', I really meant pin suspension - as in the method of pinning the medal in place for wear. Other than a few photos showing the 'French' bar type pin in use, I can't find anything that illustrates a pin arrangement of any kind and I was wondering about this.

Also, is it known how many 3rd class awards were given to foreigners?

-model 1916: 13 1st class, 8 2nd class, 80 3rd class
-model 1941: 10 1st class, 36 2nd class, 141 3rd class
-model 1944: 3 1st class, 10 2nd class, 34 3rd class
