Yes, it's a Hungarian ammo box. MAVAG was a large Hungarian arms manufacturer. 938 could be the date, indeed. And 'robbano' means explosive.

This is an ww1 austro-hungarian ammo box. I sow one at a museum in Gratz Austira. I will put pictures in 1 or 2 days.
