IAR-80 Nr.39 Adj.Av.Apolozan Dobre lost in sea near Mamaia 2 August 1941 Gr.8 Vt.Esc.52 Vt.
IAR-80 Nr.143 Adj.Av.Encioiu D-tru lost near Mamaia 21 October 1942 Gr.9 Vt. Esc.52 Vt. Nr.264 is the only IAR-80 lost in the eastern side of Black Sea in WWII. |

In your book, on p. 278, No. 39 is given as lost on 13 Aug. 1943, piloted by Slt. Gh. Voicu. Can you confirm the a/c number? Wasn't it rather No. 55? I have Adj. av. Apolozan as being part of Esc. 59 van. at the time of his death. [source: JurnOp. Flot. 2 van.] |
