Why don't you use a simple white shirt, it would be more authentic.

The first one is more like the shirts we were issued in the 70's.Except the colour,of course.

The simpler the better, made from cotton, simple straight collar, no shoulder boards, no pockets, only 3 or 4 top buttons, simple single button cuff, as long as possible (max to the middle of the thigh). Something like this: http://www.schipperfabrik.com/ah_uniforms.html

This is a known picture from the book Armata Romana 1939-1945. As you can see they have white shirts, the picture is from the summer of 1941.

Saw the one on Schipperfabrik. It's too bad he is discontinuing this aspect of WWI reenacting. I'll see if he has a size 42" chest in stock.
