The budget for 1938 was 33.3 billion Lei with an exchange rate of 70 cents for 1 Leu. You do the math.

The number I offered was the Budget for 1938. The budget is obviously different from the GDP so I didn't actually answer you question.
Sorry for the mistake. I'll try and see if I can find something about the GDP but tomorrow.

Whats GDP?

The GDP means Gross Domestic Product and it is the total amount of services , industrial products and agricultural product done by a country in a year.

ex: Romania's GDP in 2007 is 157 billion dollars ana 10% is generated by agriculture, 35% by industry and 55% by services.

So it's somewhat PIB (produsul intern brut)

Pai daca Romania avea 110 dolari pe cap de locuitor in 1938 la preturile din 1938 si Franta avea 146 de dolari tot la pretu ala, plus ca Franta avea 5200 de dolari pe cap de locuitor PIB la preturile din 2000 , facem regula de 3 simplu si iese ca Romania avea in jur de 3900 de dolari pe cap de locuitor la preturile din 2000.

Aia inseamna ca PIB_ul total era de 77 de miliarde de dolari aprope jumatate din PIB-ul actual al Romaniei.

Deci PIB ROMANIA 1938 la dollari din 2000 = 77.000.000.000

the 157 billion is PPP adjusted and thus not "real money"
it is most likely that the mentioned 33 billion lei are nominal, so the comparision is flawed.

no no dead-cat 157 billion dollars is in nominal values in PPP Romania has a GDP of nearly 240 billion dollars

no Imperilialist 110 dollars has a value 3900 dollars that was the GDP per capital in today dollars

check GDP per capita box, uncheck all the others, introduce 1938, 110 and 2006 and you will end up with a nominal value of 7,309 $ per capita today for a value of 110 $ per capita in 1938.

according to the IMF it's 121 billion nominal. for 2006. whatever figure is given for 2007 it can be only an estimate as the year has 1 more quarter.
