FRT = Fruntas (Private 1st class)

PLOT. MAU, probably J instead of U = plutonier major
PLOT. MUZ, probably J instead of Z

Hallo Victor, biggrin.gif

any ideas or some info on the following seen on some of the headstones:

CAPOR

TEODOR DAN

BAT 5, V. M. 1938. 15. 1.

1945.

I would take it that "BAT 5. V. M." was his Unit?

Now, when reading the following:

1938. 15. 1.

1945,

does the 1938 date, refer to the Unit?

and the 15. 1. 1945 date of death??

My guesses are:

BAT 5, V.M. = Batalion 5 Vinatori de Munte = 5th Batallion, Mountain Troops

1938 = contingent (recruiting class he was part of)

15.1.1945 - KIA date

Plut. Muz. Patrascu was really a unlucky guy.
He died after the peace was signed (18 July 1945) sad.gif
