Hi!
(Please direct me if these questions already have been answered to.) I'm about to start a project in building a Radio Controlled Aircombat model in 1/12 scale of the IAR 80/81. I'm looking for a reliable source with dimensions of the different types/prototypes of IAR 80/81 between the period of 1935 to 1945. I have found different dimensions on www.wikipedia.org and other sites. Exactly what I'm looking for is the widest and longest type/prototype of the IAR 80/81 and it has to be built between the period of 1935 to 1945 but it does not have to be flown. The largest dimensions I have found so far is wingspan of 11m and length of 8,97m at this site. Do any one know of a larger type/prototype or where to find other but still reliable dimensions? Kind Regards Peter Christensen |

Here is the only place where you can find reliable dimmensions. They are taken from the book Vanatorul IAR-80 by Dan Antoniu and George Cicos, which is the most documented work (years of study in different Romanian archives) on this airplane printed so far.

Thanks for the info Victor.
How is the length measured? Is it from rear to the tip of the spinner, the rear of the propeller or to were the body ends? Regards Peter |
