Good one, Dragos...
On a more serious note, the articles on Moore and his documentary are fairly interesting... Examples: http://www.moveamericaforward.org/Emails/P...20040621-1.html http://www.moveamericaforward.org/Emails/P...20040617-2.html http://www.moveamericaforward.org/Emails/P...20040617-1.html |

_______________________________________________ U may know that's the strip "Doonesbury" by Gary Trudeau. How about this for an irony; GT started the strip while he was a student at Yale U. in the late 60's; about the same era that Bush was there, and Kerry, and, yes, Bill and Hillary Clinton. (if u count the Law school.) Must have been somrthing in the air there then (besides marijuana smoke) |

I didn't know actually My perception of American internal politics is a bit sketchy. When I wander on some US political forums I just shake my head at the apparent complexity of it. Too many people involved with either insufficiently described political leanings, or sometimes I'm just overwhelmed by an avalanche of details which often are meaningless to me. I do my best but it doesn't help that sometimes we just don't connect the dots because of some religious or cultural postulate that we don't share. But I do not despair to understand the whole thing one day  |

I see Bremer handed over sovereignty to the Irakis and calmly ... rushed to the airport like he just threw a grenade into an ammo dump

Switching to election campaign news for a bit, after failing to attract McCain for the VP spot, it looks like Kerry will pick Hillary Clinton as his running mate.
At least these are the rumors in Washington, according to this article: http://www.drudgereport.com/kerryhrc.htm What do you guys think? What are your feelings towards Hillary? Do you think this is a good move or a bad move on Kerry's part? |

We don't know well Hillary in Europe. She has become very "US internal politics" to us, maybe wrongly so. But she has this aura of a proud and courageous women worth 10 times her husband on a human value scale. So perhaps Kerry's choice is not bad
Or perhaps her choice of Kerry is ill advised 8) |

______________________________________________________ Matt Drudge has too much of a reputation for publishing right slanted misinformation posing as news scoops for me to give him much credibility. Of course, every now and then he nails one....but it's too much trouble to separate the wheat from the chaff in his "report", imo. Absent ANY other report in the mainstream (source checked) media, I'd relegate this one to the chaff bin. It must be giving Republicans wet dreams though; it's hard to imagine a juicier target than a Clinton. |

______________________________________________ I liked the news that about the only thing SH revealed to his interrogators was that he invaded Kuwait "to give the Iraqi Army something to do", (apparently he feared an idle officer corps). I thought that was priceless. Our crack interrogators really outdid themselves. Maybe he can get Johnnie Cochran (O.J. Simpson's lawyer) to run his defense. And after he walks, he can cop a multimillion dollar tell-all book deal. That's what would have happened if he were tried here, so we turned him over to the Iraqis who might actually give him what he deserves. Seriously though, I was fascinated by the reports of Iraqi "man in the street" reactions to the first day. Pretty interesting, the spectrum and depth of feelings displayed. |

But not surprising. That's the kind of things dictators do.
With a little help from their Israeli councellors ? ;-) Now that was a real PR coup, I'm sure much appreciated in the Arab world  |

It is interesting to see that since the transition of power Iraq slipped away from the top line news. I am wondering if it is really quiet, or just forgotten.
