Hi all and happy newyear...
New on this forum, thas was indicated to me by some simmers mates ( 3-JG52, Crickey, Kaoss and so on)..... I am a french simmer on IL-2 FB and would give some attention to the IAR 80/81.... We have iar80, 81A and 81c in our sim, but...... they are poorly treated.... I can't do nothing for the 3d, but i can make something for skins (done) And to repaint the cockpit....... Here is the one we have. So it is not so bad, but, pretty blury and not sure for instruments.... I can surely nothing for the emplacement or type of instrument (no access to 3D), but, i can surely repaint with more quality and/or accuracy. To do that, i need some good pictures of cockpit and instruments for IAR 80/81... please, coul'd you help me ? i love this bird very much and woul'd to fly it with a better cockpit........ Thanks a lot for helping.... |

Hi UF_Jose,
You can find some pictures here http://www.cartula.ro/index.php?option=com...g2_itemId=15536 There has been a lot of talk about a new French book on the IAR80 from Editions TMA (I have been waiting for it since it was announced in 2003 ) and if (and when) that is released, it may contain some more info. There is a rumour that it will be released soon. We shall see The Romanian Modelism magazine issued a very large set of plans in 1989/1990 and that describes two types of instrument panels. Also, the instruments are included in the blueprints. You can try to contact Modelism here http://www.modelism.ro/ Those drawings have been scanned and posted on Russian pirate sites, but because I do not agree with that I cannot give you a link. The pictures you posted are of a mid-to-late production IAR80/81 cockpit. Early series had a slighlty different arrangement for some instruments. The interior colour of the cockpit was aluminium lacquer (similar to PZL11/24) and the instrument panels were black. Hope this helps, Radu |
