From my friend's website:

My father's father was an amazing self-made man, he left his village, became a sailor and sailed all over the globe, then he settled on land, only to become an aviator (nice pic of their landing ground in 1933). He fought in World War II and was injured by the AAA (Picture taken just after landing, he is the one laying on the ground).

This one is not from WWII:

The airplane shown in the link appears to be a Bristol Blenheim long-range reconnaissance airplane.
Does your friend have more similar airplane photos?

Well, the Bristol Blenheim was originally designed as bomber, but ARR used it mainly for long-range recce duties (although the airplane could carry a bomb load, too).

Hi, I am the owner of the website to which Petru posted the link. Unfortunately I do not have any more photos with airplanes. (Or, more correctly, they may exist in the attic of my grandparents' house 10000 km away from me, in Romania, nowhere close to a scanner).

The Earth has a radius of over 6000 km, so theoretically, the point furthest away from Romania is somewhere at pi*6000 km= 19000 km. 10,000 km would place him in North America, probably somewhere on the Pacific coast (Stanford is at Palo Alto, in the vicinity of San Francisco).

Also, if a member chooses not to mention his whereabouts in his profile, he does not have to do it.

Good idea!

Indrid, there is nothing personal. It is just the grumpy-Victor-before-exam version of me.
