Not an expert on romanian camo but two weeks ago I bought a romanian communist era sniper-scout suit. It's composed from pants and a small chest high blouse with a big hood with a small covert opening for the scope; the suit was used as an over dress pulled over the normal kaki uniform so it has no pockets only slits placed were the pockets of the uniform are placed, as you can see from the picture it came in a camo bag. And I'm happy to say that I pied only about 2,5euro (10 lei) for it. cool.gif

I also have a second pattern (md 1994) post communist camo uniform and a cap for the first pattern camo (md 1990).

This link you posted shows the first pattern http://www.geocities.com/canuck_infantry/Romanian_Leaf.jpg and the other one the second pattern.

There is also a urban camo with blue as base color that was used by the gendarmerie until recently.

Oh, I saw this camo only in a photo, but I wasn't sure that the information was right.
Infact I know that also polish army used this one....
So Mihnea, do you think you could sell me it? Or the other from 1990? rolleyes.gif
Because I want to buy all theese camo if someone sell them me.
If you don't sell, no problem, thank you for your speech! smile.gif

There are more romanian camo patterns and colours, both for comunist and post-comunist era.

Only as a short example, what you were calling "sniper camo" from comunist era has at least two more different colour patterns with diferent degrees of green ( I personally saw a green like in sprint and another one).

The post comunist era has also at least two more colour patterns: for spring (green) and for autumn (basicaly brown); I'll look a photo I have from my army duty, when we 4 or 5 soldiers use to wear 6 or 7 different type of cammo smile.gif

Oh and not to mention romanian camo had a tendency to fade in time also there are more shades of each camo as you see on my camo blouse half it's darker and half is lighter.

Also I also heard that some sniper-scout suits were reversible with green and yellow patterns of the same camo.

It seems that this cammo's inspirated from the Soviet 2nd type autumn cammouflage of the 30-s and 40-s.

The last one, a current issue DPM from the 151st Infantry battalion "Black Wolves".
For the correct desert patch, name tape and Ro.Army tape I have to wait until August when they return from Iraq where are currently deployed.
Let's hope they return safely.
