Yesterday was the 60th anniversary of ther famous USAAF low-level attack against the Ploiesti oilfields, code-named 'Operation Tidal Wave'.
Despite not achieving the intended result of definitely knocking out the oilfieds in the Prahova Valley, this daring raid was a milestone in the aerial warfare of W.W. 2.
