I just spent a frustrating amount of time on the Internet, looking for an image of the Romanian cross, used as a nationality symbol or air-recognition marking on Romanian AFVS, aircraft, etc. I know several variations were used, depending on the circumstances, but I could only find one: a version in which the arms are rather elongated and narrow, which I will post below. I wanted to find an image of the same, but with shorter, almost stubby, arms, but had no success; I know a version was also used that seemed to be the simple outline of the cross.
So, I am starting this thread in the home that others can add to it. I believe I have a copy of the "stubby" version another computer, and I'll try to remember to post it here as well, within the next few days. But I'd welcome others adding to the "collection," and maybe adding things like unit emblems as well, perhaps with a bit of text explaining what is known about the history/origin of the symbols, if known.[IMG][URL=http://img527.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rumaniancrosspb9.jpg][IMG] I'm not sure if the image "took" or not, so I'll try posting another link here just in case: http://img527.imageshack.us/my.php?image=r...iancrosspb9.jpg This post has been edited by Ardee on October 02, 2008 06:55 pm |
