In Florian's wonderful thread above on aviation he mentions an M. Boteanu as "General Director of Aviation." None of us working on our project has ever heard of the man, so we have a number of questions.
1. What exactly did the "General Director of Aviation" do? 2. Was this a cabinet level post? 3. Was it a civilian post or did it work under the military? 4. Does anyone know anything about Boteanu such as what years he served as general director, what were his qualifications for the post, and what he did during World War I? Thanks, Rich (BTW getting closer to concluding the first part of our project. Wish us luck) |

He was general Mihail Boteanu, General Inspector of Engineering troops, including the aviation.
