Air Force Ludanka Model 1934. Variation with King Ferdinad gold Cypher in the center of the eagle and the eagle is clutching a straight sword. A gold plate over a medium light blue base. Other variations include Cyphers of King Carol 2, Cyphers done in silver, eagle in silver, and eagles clutching a curved sword. I would like to know if there ever existed an Air Force ludanka with King Michael cyphers ? I think that it probably was not issued due to the war although I have seen King Michael Air Force swords. General Staff Academy ludanka Model 1934. The General Staff School was distinguished by the colors of a silver plate on purple cloth base. Upon graduation, officers were assigned to line regiments and continued to wear the flambing bomb and lightning bolt insignia on their uniform colar patches. So for example, Infantry would have the General Staff insignia on red, Artillery would have this insignia on black. Were there ludankas that were issued with the same color patterns ? |

The heavy artillery cartridge pouch ("ledunca") had yellow cloth background, not black. In my oppinon this is a M.,1930 field artillery pouch. It isn't a yellow piping around the plate but simply the back lining of the plate. |

This is a M.1930 Intendence officer cartridge pouch ("ledunca"). It has the typical branch of service symbol of the Intendence (similar to the graduates of the Senior War School - "Scoala Superioara de Razboi", but in white metal). The mauve colour of the cartridge pouch was charactheristic for Intendence officers. White/silver metal for lace, buttons, epaulettes, etc., was regulation for non-combatant officers, such as Administartion, Intendence, Artillery & Engineers guards. |

There were many variants of "ledunca"-s decorated with different variants of eagles and kings' cyphers. These pouches were carried from 1925, when the Air Force uniform was adopted until April 1941, so there are many pouches with Ferdinand, Michael (simple "M" not the cross) and Carol II cyphers. |
