from what it it looks to me I would have to say:
the item that's in the picture it looks like some sort of canteen for food, im guessing that, because of the handle and the lock, pretty much all the food carriers had locks on them, that's my 2 cents |

Most bread was carried in bread bags of light weight canvas construction. The thickness of the handle, latches and metal strap tie downs loops on the side of the can are made of a very heavy construction and designed to carry some weight. My thoughts on this is that it was designed to carry a machine gun ammo belt.

Too heavy....
And it is better for an ammo belt to be carrried in a scuare device. Much easy to store it. Not to talk about the fact that it is also very expensive. Generaly those are made from wood. This post has been edited by C-2 on April 30, 2008 05:59 am |

i sur 100% that is not for water becouse it is not sealed. 2. my container is much smaller than the one in youre pic. also got answers from german forums....it is a bread box gruss s. |
