Thank you, Dragos, for offering to forum members to vote on your proposal. However, I will accept the offer to be a moderator of the ARR section only if a significant majority votes for me.

To avoid the 'half-half' situation, when the potential moderator's own vote decides the outcome of the poll - as was Getu's case - I voted against myself.

How do you know? It was my vote that decided the outcome. Maybe Getu had the same masochistic tendencies as yourself but kept them for himself. Anyway, I don't think he'd be capable of such pettiness as the one you show in the quote above. I underlined the passage for visual clarity.

I don't know, I assumed it. I took my chances, the same way I assume that you voted against me...

I have set up moderation of forum. Even if I (dragos) and Victor appear as moderators, we have full admin rights.

Moderators can move, close, split, edit, rename topics, and post sticky and announcements, only in forums they are moderators.

Moderators can technically delete topics in their forums, but we (administrators) forbid this. If a moderator consider that a topic should be deleted, he is asked to inform us. However, I constantly make backups of forum.

I don't know if a moderator can delete specific posts inside a topic, because the info on phpBB comunity is quite confusing on this subject. But even if possible, currently we forbid this.

Moderators cannot ban members.

In future, even if some members eventually reach General rank, administrators decide if they are eligible for moderator.

Hi,

I suggest that when a moderator close a topic, or delete a subject, or other things like that, we, the common guys who are marching around until the Marshall stick will pop-out from our kitbag, should be informed who did it.

This is regardless to whom the moderator is. It is just happening that I inserted my post here, where Denes is concerned.

Florin :?

PS: I see I was degraded. Well, I saw Denes was also degraded, so I'll vote for him. biggrin.gif Seriously talking, I guess the matter is as in awarding the Knight Cross to the German pilots: few "kills" were enough to get the Cross in 1940, then the requirements were higher and higher.

Hi,

In the moment of this post you have 2 thirds (66%).
This is OK as majority in the current American legal system, and in accordance to Consitution of the United States signed on September 17, 1787.

Since the result of the voting is obvious, we'll end it somewhere next week.

You're wrong. Check the topic "Note on moderators".
