The picture actually doesn't show the Ploiesti oil refineries. It shows the oilfields from Gura Ocnitei.

Gura Ocnitei is near Moreni (Dambovita county) the first oilfield exploatation in Romania.

You are wright, the photos are about the oilfields. They were made in 1929 for the French "crédit minier".

PS I have to scan the last 12 pictures. Hope it will be soon. At least these unknown pictures will serve to imagine the oilfields in the late 20s and beggining 30s
