I visited today the Antique fair of Bucarest (30 - 31 aug Obor). Lots of helmets (incl German ones, repainted in ... black!) and bayonnets (most of them, mod 27 ZB, but also Mossin and a few AKM). Prices very high - as if every canteen was Antonescu's one!
A surprise: there are some fake Nazi militaria. Daggers (made in Pakistan, "adapted" with Swastikas and Gothic slogans about "Blut und Ehre"), cigarette cases and lighters (with skulls, bones and swastikas). It seems to be quite a business! Here in Romania, that's something new. Taking in consideration the huge quantities and the evolved techniques (serigraphy, enamels etc), it seems to be a semi-industrial production of those artefacts, coming from abroad. Who knows more about that? |
