Gents,
As promised, the better scans. First, the portrait itself. |

And a better scan of the chest. I reckon I see the Turtucaia bar... perhaps someone with eagle eyes may elaborate more.

Plutonier major Alexandru Georgescu, born in 1889, joined the military piloting school in 1919 (he received the pilot's certificate no. 194 on 21 Dec. 1919). Gen. Dénes This post has been edited by Dénes on October 04, 2008 04:36 pm |

Hallo Denes From which area of the Romanian Military Service did he join the military piloting school in 1919? Is it recorded? And does anybody know where in Romania he was born, lived, and is buried?? Kevin in Deva. |

Interesting to see he wears an Imperial Russian award (St.Stanislaus) beneath a Nazi German award: Ehrenzeichen für Deutsche Volkspflege am Band Does anybody know if he had a medical occupation in his military career? More nice eye candy Russian Neck Order, French Legion of Honour and French Cross of War, with many stars on the ribbon. Kevin in Deva. |

Nice Eye Candy, Romanian Military Virtue Cross, I Class Romanian Manhood & Loyalty Medal, Romanian Military Virtue Cross II Class, French Medal Militare. And possibly two Imperial Russian St. George Crosses however I might be wrong on that as the ribbon colour show no stripe. Kevin in Deva |
