Marlene Dietrich (german) and Joan Baez (american) performed the german version of the lirycs. So I don't hate Americans or other nations. Just a preferance of the singers. This post has been edited by Cantacuzino on December 10, 2008 02:37 pm |

I understand, now...
I see you are interested in Aeronautics. Does the name Horia Agarici tell you anything? I read in a book (Romania in WW2, by C-tin. Kiriţescu), but I have found no other source, that he was a lieutenat credited with the first Sowiet plane knocked down in the war. Do you know anything about this? If this was a matter already discussed in this forum, will you "guide" me? Thanx! -------------------- M

The italian fleet was serious hurt by British carrier based aircraft. Examples are at raid on taranto by sowrdfish torpepdo bombers and several other actions. The situation was made worse because there was very limited inter service support in all axis forces. In the evacuation of Crete the British had no carriers deployed. These loses prove how important air cover is. |

Not-so-"off-topic": I just found out some archive documents according to which not only we didn't have armored manufacturing capacity, we didn't even have drivers for the motorization of army units! Poor country - not very well instructed people!
