The town of Dubnica, located some 10 km from Trencin, was taken from the forces of the German 76th Infantry Division by the 2nd and 3rd Dorobanti Regiments of the 11th Infantry Division. The fighting lasted from 25 to 28 April 1945. I suppose that Nova Dubnica was in its vicinity.

Nova Dubnica is very close to Dubnica (known as Dubnica nad Vahom in Slovakia).

Vojenskí historici úlohu rumunských vojsk v skutočnosti nikdy nezaznávali, čo potvrdzujú odborné publikácie a štúdie.

Boci,

Looks like a very interesting passage, but the translation is almost impossible to understand.

Could you please translate it into English if you have time? Also, what is the source for the information?

Thanks.

In operational zone of 2nd Ukrainian Front in West Carpathian operation attacked 40th Army of GenLt F. F. Žmačenko, 4th Romanian Army of Gen. G. Abramesco, 53th army GenLt I. M. Managarov and from februáry 1th Romanian Army Gen. V. Atanasiu. In January 1945 on operation also participated 27th Army og GenCol S. G. Trofimenko. In February 1945 was moved to Budapešt.

During fights in Czecho-Slovakia Red Army lost arounf 144 000 KIA, from that around 2/3 in Slovakia. In Romanian literature Romanian losses are presented around 86 000. usually is also written that importants of Romanian Army on liberatuion of Slovakia and Czechoslovakia was during Communist era purposely forgotten. It maybe true in its presentation to public, but not in works military historians as is proved by articles and others works from that time. Now other opposite is very wide. For example on seminar about liberation of Turiec region acording to press was said, that martin was liberated by 11th (should be 18th) Romanian infantry Div. The true is that in same time between 5 and 6 oclock of 11th April 1945 Martin entered also reco team of 4th Czechoslovak brigade under command of čatár Ján Fešo , from villeage Soľ , county Vranov nad Topľou, and edge of Martin reached about 5 15 morning. Shorlty after front battalion of brigade arrived. Romanians had to leave town next day because by entering town they got out of operational zone of 2. UF (they had to advance toward town Rajec).
