hi
I found a page on eBay.com that sells a M70 Romanian helmet you might be interested in. I also own an M70 helmet that I brought back from Romania in 2000.

i'm doing business over ebay occasionally too. just like everywhere else, apply common sense and you're reasonably safe from fraud. when i'm selling something i demand payment in advance.

with militaria items it's not allways obvious indeed, sometimes it's hard to tell from the photo if the item is original or not. but i doubt militaria fans were to be found in any signifiant number among those 3 millions mentioned by the news. more likely they were trying to buy "cheap" laptops and plasma screens.

I bought a Romanian WWII helmet recently and the badge was a fake. It wasn't brass but some kind of plastic material.

I've seen plenty of fake German helmets on eBay as well as fake Italian and Russian helmets. Plus I see a LOT of Dutch helmets sold as Romanian...there is one up now.

DENES, HELMET LOOK GOOD. LINER MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACE AS IT SHOWS NO WEAR. THIS HELMET HAS BEEN REPAINTED BROWN DURING THE UNIFORM CHANGE OF THE 1920'S. YOU CAN SEE THE GRAY BLUE ORIGINAL COLOR FROM WW1 BLEEDING THROUGH ON THIS HELMET. IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS THE ORIGINAL PAINT FROM THE PERIOD.

I saw that. Is it original or is it hard to tell in a photo? I can bet it wasn't found at Stalingrad...

This is good example of Adrian Helmet.
It may be original.
