Octavian Stanescu was my father's uncle. Born around 1907-1910, during the WWII was lieutenant/captain-commander (major/lt.colonel). After 1944 from what I heared, he didn't want to fought against germans and he was imprisonered.
My father didn't remember anything about him (from that period). He didn't have any more relatives (?). I have some pictures, I'll upload in few days. Please, if somebody have some info about him... I looked into my computer files. There were lots of Stanescus in ARR, but I found none with the given name Octavian.

I was informed by a friend that Stanescu Octav held the military pilot's brevet No. 906/9 August 1931.

In Romanian Official Gazette no.251/29.10.1944 is mentioned Lt . Comandor Stanescu M. Octavian from Aeronautica Regala , awarded with " Semnul Onorific de 40 de ani " by Royal Decree no. 1819/6.10.1944 .
