Hello everybody!
Does anyone knows anything about Krosnhtad Class submarine chasers of the Romanian Navy? I only know there three of them called V1, V2 and V3. Entered service in 1956.

The NATO code-name was Kronshtadt. The soviet name was Project-122 B, built as large submarine chaser, later renamed small anti-sub. ship, after 1960 obsolete.
In RO Navy "Vanator de Submarine". Were in action till 1990-1993(?), with several capital reparations and some modernizations. See :

I have found something about the Kronshtadt class in Ro Navy service a while ago in the online archive of the official magazine "Marina Romana" here:
http://www.navy.ro/
I saved only the two pages so i don't know from which issue of the magazine they are. Anyway, here's the article:

Many thanks for your help.
There is another problem now: anything about the submarine chasers 41,42,43 and 44 built at Mangalia Shipyard in 1974 (according to the article).
I think these ships were not the POTI Class corvettes (according to Wikipedia, these ships were transferred to Romanian Navy in 1970, beeing launched in 1967 - numbers 31,32,33).

The submarine chasers 41,42,43 and 44 were built 1974 at The Navy Shipyard of Mangalia, based on the chinese project 62/111C (NATO code-name Shanghai class patrol boat).
There were also built those years two diver ships, and for the Coast Guard (then "Marina Graniceri") over 20 similar ships (you can see them on the roads entering in Constantsa and one is near the railroad station. I'm sure you can buy one for some cheap money...)

Many thanks!
I think it'll be interesting to post more informations about Romanian Navy's inventory between 1950-1990.

Do you know the names of those two diver ships based on the Shanghai class hull?
The divers also use two speedboats based on the HuChuan torpedo boats class, named Marte and Jupiter - i suppose you're not confusing them

I found a source which gives the exact number of Shanghai class boats as 21, see here pages 453-454

No BALLY, Petre was answering my question about the names of the diver ships based on Shanghai.
Here's Venus; I suppose saturn should be identical
