I am about to submit a proposal for an OOB review for Romania to a game that's been in my heart for quite a while : WinSPMBT.
When looking for things to update I came across this : http://www.unhcr.org/refworld/pdfid/48d748f723.pdf Romania is listed to have cluster weapons, among these the CG 540 and CG 540 ER 152mm rounds made by Romarm that use the GAA-001 bomblets made by Aerotech which are said to be identical to the Israeli M85 sumbmunitions. Thing is, according to the Romarm website, the CG 540 and 540 ER are simple HE rounds. http://www.romarm.ro/files/AA_ammo_big_des...tion_1_jpeg.jpg Can anybody clear this up. Does Romania produce cluster rounds for the 152mm howitzer? |

As a general note, papers released by humanitarian or pacifist organizations are not reliable when it comes to technical military matters, because they are usually put together by people with little to no understanding or knowledge about military technology. They also like to exagerate. I'll take the word of the manufacturer or sales agent (this case Romarm) over theirs anytime.
As for the 152 mm shells: I've never heard, read about or seen photos of such rounds, not even in prototype stage, or at Expomils, etc. This post has been edited by Vici on February 09, 2010 02:08 pm |
