Dear Sirs,
I have an unusual request, I don’t even know if your organization can help me. My great grandfather was a WWI veteran. He was entitled with 5 hectares of land in 1921. He held the ownership of that land until 1948 when the communist authorities confiscated the land for use in common agriculture exploitations.
The land was situated in Dobrogea region, Constanta Country, city of Constanta, village of Viile Noi. In the vicinities of the area of interest were the airport, a major military objective and the Romanian-American Society, a local division of Standard Oil New Jersey, so I am sure that the plans exist, because of the strategic interest of the area.
I know that is a long shoot, but you know, or can you direct me to a place where I can find any maps/plans of the city of Constanta from the period 1926-1948?
I have already tried searching local civil archives and several other local institutions with no luck.
Did Romanian Army held any records about war veterans who ware entitled to land especially maps or plans? And if so where can this plans can be found?
Thank you, any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.
