I would like to open this Forum for the purpose of identification of Romanian Generals and learning about their military backgrounds. Alot is written about WW2 Romanian Generals. However, I find very little information about pre-war Generals. Please post any photos you have here identified or not and lets find out the history about these individuals.

What is the badge worn by this general at the neck?
It also appears just above the waistline belt of this general. |

These are awesome pictures. Can anyone ID any of the orders worn by these men?

Carol I, I am not a collector of World orders so I am not sure. However, It looks very similar to the Greek order of George. I have seen Romanian medal bars with Greek orders on them. Could this be Greek ?

Seems as if these generals received many orders from countries around the area of Romania. Would most have been for service during WW1 or awards for diplomatic missions between wars?

I am not a collector of World orders either, but I was intrigued by the badge that I have never seen before.
The Greek Order of George I seems to have had equal vertical arms while the badge in the photo has an elongated lower arm. Furthermore, the Greek order had a chest star made from the badge superimposed onto rays, while the general in the photo wears only the badge as a star. But, as I said before, I am not very familiar with Greek orders either, so I am not sure whether this is not an earlier version of the Greek order. Any other opinions? |
