The seller wrote in German that the photos were taken in July 1941.

Since that DB-3F not showing any fin numbers, that leads me to
believe that it belonged to the long range bomber unit based in
deep Ukraine and one south of Kiev. At least 4 DB-3F's were
lost by that group in July '41 while attacking Ploesti and while
recon Tulcea.

Also the fuselage painting seems not to be related to Black See
Fleet. The lack of post crash fire damages of the fuselage
indicates that the pilot was hit by AA or fighters and
attempted an emergency landing....a crash which may have
been partially survived by the crew.

I am seeing a photo of a DC-3 at LARES in 1941, does anyone have an
idea when LARES started to operate the DC-3's and howmany
were aquired by this airline on the initial start up ? any high resulution
LARES DC-3's photos ? Additionally I've notice that the D0-17 group
photos stating in German" departure into vacation " under photo
named XERXES....on the right hand side thats seems to be
Gerstenberg.

Thanks in advance

Al

I saw that, but I want people to get used to always mention the source of all photos they copy from the net, books or other souces. That's the minimum courtesy they can do towards the original source.

As the title says we're talking about photos which have been put on ebay or other auction sites, i never uploaded here or on any other thread photos scanned from books or which come under other copyright aspects, all the pictures here are posted on the "internet" with the very consent of their owner and most of the time they have watermarks and so on, never did i upload a "private" picture, sometimes i save pictures without having the original auction link, sometimes i'm too lazy, that's it.
