I wonder how you arrived at Yad Va Shem and how you
found both airplanes photos. The first twin AAR plane looks like a PE-2 but I don't think it is. I think thats the occupied Belti airfield. Alex K This post has been edited by yugit on January 11, 2012 08:28 pm |

If you responded by posting Potez links as the answer, this is not what I asked him . I asked him regarding the place at Yad Va Shem where he discoverd the Potez |

It is just one picture :
On the upper bar - Digital Collections : Yad Vashem Photo Archive "A German soldier's album of the path of the German occupation." (not about aircraft) http://collections.yadvashem.org/photosarc...-container.html |

Like always your help is appreciated, one thing though I really can't understand on why they published German Army photo albumes....and make PR for something totally irrelevant for their cause....I scrolled through their albumes and many of their material is totally unrelated and some has nothing to do with holocaust This post has been edited by yugit on January 12, 2012 02:10 pm |

YUGIT
YAD VASHEM, LIKE ARCHIVES AND MUSEUMS AROUND THE WORLD, GETS THEIR MATERIALS AS DONATIONS. THESE MAY NOT ALWAYS BE TOTALLY RELEVANT TO THEIR MAIN COLLECTIONS, BUT ARE SELDOM TURNED DOWN. ON THE OTHER HAND A SOLDIERS ALBUM MIGHT CONTAIN PICTURES OF A CERTAIN MILITARY UNIT, IN A SPECIFIC TOWN, ON A SPECIFIC DATE. THIS WOULD BE OF GREAT INTEREST IF AN ATROCITY HAD HAPPENED THERE ON THAT DATE. SOLDIERS/PEOPLE TAKE PICTURES, NOT INTENDED FOR PUBLIC VIEWING, OF "LESS THAN PROPER BEHAVIOR" THAT THEY ARE WITNESSES TO. I DOUBT THAT THE RECENT MARINE VIDEO FROM AFGHANISTAN WAS EVER FILMED WITH THE INTENTION OF BEING MADE PUBLIC. HOLOCAUST RELATED PHOTOGRAPHS HAVE TURNED UP IN SOLDIER'S ALBUMS. THAT IS WHY NOT EVERYTHING IN THE YAD VASHEM ARCHIVES SPECIFICALLY DEALS WITH THE HOLOCAUST. SORRY IF OFF TOPIC - JUST AN ANSWER. |

Indeed a rare emblem, also the Fleet next to the Fiesler wear the same emblem probably both planes from the same liasson squadron. Maybe one of these squadrons: Escadrila 111 de legătură Escadrila 112 de legătură Escadrila 113 de legătură Escadrila 114 de legătură Escadrila 115 de legătură Escadrila 116 de legătură |
