QUOTE (seeker @ November 14, 2012 09:13 pm)
Alex, i think toti meritam a little thanks. Toti contribuim cu ce poate each one. Let Mr muggs in pace, el face o good job si is construieste o arhiva bunicica with romanian army photos in ww2.

Ti-o zic si romgelza.

A photo archive is done by buying the actual photos, by touring the fairs Saturday morning when others in bed, by contacting veterans and learning their stories etc.

One does not make a photo archive by copying this and that from the Internet. It is however a sure way to prevent people who own interesting photos to post them online from now on.

QUOTE (muggs @ November 14, 2012 10:47 am)
File a complaint with Facebook, whatever pics i posted there are "as is" if the user didn't put a watermark it was obviously his choice, i don't have any commercial gain from that site, my only intent is to increase WW2 history interest through pictures.

This is not about you making money from the pictures you post on FB. It is about courtesy.

Some people put money and effort into the photos they uncover and post online. Common sense should tell you that you should ask for permission before reposting them on another site or at least mention the original source. This is one of reasons we have the "photo source" rule on this forum.

I am sorry that you do not seem to understand this.

100% TRUE - I do not want money, or nothing to gain - but I deserve at least a notification/request or a THANK YOU.

VICTOR, MANY THANKS. I owe you one.

Alex

Hi Victor...allow me not to agree with you on this. Have you ever seen one of this site members in Obor on saturday morning?

http://www.ww2incolor.com/

If someone consider to share on internet a picture...it's logic to consider that there is 100% chance to be downloaded by others.
I'm sorry that Alex is so upset with this situation. Maybe muggs will consider in mentioning the source.

I just went through all the albums and hopefully i deleted all the offending pictures, if there is something else left please contact me via facebook.

Victor please remove my account and all my posts/threads here.

I really don't have nor the time nor the will to go through all of them and try to remember from where i downloaded all those pics, that "project" started as a page for myself to store photos and then slowly it picked up.

Florin,

Yes, I go each Saturday and Sunday morning from 04.00 to the fair and I gather fotos. You know that very well, since we know each other. Therefore, no matter the weather, I go each saturday morning, so please shut up on this situation. Also, Victor has been on some occasions with me on some Saturday mornings, and therefore he knows the situation also.

As per muggs' project, it is nice, and I salute it, but as long as these pictures are not for sale, they are mine, and I want a geture of gratitude when they are posted elsewhere. In the moment they are on ebay for sale, they are free for anyone to be copied, since they are available for the public to be seen.

Just my 02 cents on the matter.
