Hi, I watched a program on the History channel about Army group south fighting in the Crimea and southern Russia and it said that Von Manstein assembled a Romanian motorised force as a reserve and it said and I qoute, it was not much but is was better then nothing, is this true nad what was the units in this formation.

Yes it is true and very well known to students of the Crimean Campaign. Try googling "Mechanised/Motorised Detachment Korne" and you should find lots of information. It changed composition several times.

Thanks Alan, I did google it and it was very interesting,
Korne Detachment: 3rd & 4th Cavalry Regiments 2nd Artillery Battalion 7th Heavy Artillery Regiment I will endevour to find what weapons and equipment these units used. Yan. |

Not quite correct, especially since the make-up of the detachment varied.
