Denes

Going through your book I must tell you that in smilar of the other
books you published is of a great historical value, which even the
Russian historians can't match.

It was my hope that the book will cover all events related to
Rumania till October 41. Additionally for some reason you
missed a major event related to the long range bombing
mission of VVS 21 and 22 DBAP of Col.Sudets over Bucharest from
Zaporoje on June 26,1941 . They have lost 9 bombers on that
day , 1 grp commander and 2 senior sqd leaders . All 9 acft must
have crashed on the way to and from the target area and around
Bucharest. On that respect I would appreciate any details regarding
the crash locations and crew burial in Rumania. I have all crew
names just in case you need them.

An other event not fully covered is the loss of 9 MBR-2's on July 18
1941 of the 119 AE from Evpatoria to Constanza. In addition to what
you mentioned a 3rd MBR-2 crew was rescued and all ended up at
Fierbinti and then to Dulag and OFLAGs .

Few other events such as the long range bombing mission at night
from Sevastopol to Bucharest of Maj.Suhomlin ( later on chief test
pilot of Beriev) on MTB-2 along with 1 Maj Navigator, 1 Major
Co Pilot, 1 Capt Radio Off. and 1 Capt Bombardier ( female ) was not
covered on your book.

Finally the russian sources saying that the famous photo of the
DB-3F brought down by Rumanian AA flack on the night of July
14/15 was bombing Ploesti rather than Bucharest and due to
disorientation of the pilot due to flack and damages they ended up at the
welcoming commitee of the Rumanian AA bateries . The Soviet archives
recording no losses at the Bucharest mission but one at Ploesti. I have
the pilot and crew names which perhaps we can double check with
your sources in order to ascertain that I have the right details.

Best Regards

Denes,

In this link from Amazon.com...

http://www.amazon.com/Barbarossa-Odessa-Lu...10603478&sr=1-1

...your name is clearly on the cover as the first of the 3 authors, but on the webpage only the other two are mentioned. If this was not your intention and if this matters to you, you should write to Amazon to correct the error.

Regards,
Florin
