Does anyone knows where are burried the Romanian volunteers that fought on the western front in WWI? I'm searching Ionel Teodoreanu's brother who was an aircraft pilot and died in 1915 or 1916 in France.
Thanks, Bm This post has been edited by Bernard Miclescu on November 03, 2008 09:24 pm |

Just in case if you are still looking for information about this soldier....
I search on several website about WW1 records (casualty, graves etc.) the name Teodoreanu and found nothing. The only pilot dead in 1915-1916 found in the French military records with a name nearly similar is this one : Theodoresco Jean (the French administration has a bad habit to make more French the name of the foreigners or to mispell it) Lieutnant (sous lieutenant) from the Romanian army, serving at the 2nd French Airplane Fleet. Volunteer in 1914, Died the 19/11/1916 at Salonique during a plane accident. Most probably buried in Salonique, but no record available yet. This soldier was born on 6th Oct 1882 in Bucharest. Picture of the record : http://picasaweb.google.com/11138874284167...818041699757602 Don't know if it's the same person. Let me know if you need any additional information. Frenchie |

OT. Agarici should jump up here, too, seeing the blatant "Frenchification" of Rumanian names. Gen. Dénes |

Horia Hulubei was one of the Romanian Airmen fighting in the West with the French Army, who was taken POW by the Germans...
