Hello,

I would appreciate your help with precise details

b. was the 4-IAP of Morozov located at Kishinew airfield ?
c. to which front if any did the 4-IAP belong at that time ?

1941-July 14 Ploesti-Bucharest
===================
The SB-2 brought down by Rumanian AA flack on the
July 14, 41 night near Bucharest, where it originated
from and what IAP was it belonging to ?

1941-Aug 25 Cernavoda Bridge
=====================
Lt.Boris Filiminov...from what base in Russia

Answers to your questions (and other details) can be also found in my book, titled: 'From Barbarossa to Odessa'. vols. 1 and 2.

Hello

Thank you, I will try to get a hold of them .Perhaps you could answer me
a question at no cost. Where were the downed Russian pilots in
Rumania kept captive ? I understand that they were kept on separate
locations other than Lagarul 13 and not together with the Allied airmen.

I avoid a guess that they may have been sent to the Reich Satalags

Thanks

Unfortunately, I have no info on captured Soviet airmen.
For sure, they were not kept together with Western POWs.

Denes

Thank you, and thats a tough dilema for me too. Fact is that
VVS pilots fell in captivity during the great patriotic war in
Rumania and unlike their Allied buddies seems to have
received a different treatment as into their captivity terms.

There are reports suggesting that various 1st and 5th Torpedo Mine
Sqd's pilots and Navigators of the 4th Black Sea fleet , were
held captive near Constanza ...........I'll continue to research on
this and update you as it comes.

Also perhaps you have an idea for how long the 83 GIAP
were based in 45 at Turgusorul Nou. They operated a
mixed fleet of lend lease Spits and P-40's and later on
they moved to Crimea on their way back to their original
stations.

I've red your books Rumanian Aces of WWII ,Rumanian
AF the Prime Decade and I am expecting your the other
two books u've mentioned and shall address you questions
in due course.
