I want to double-check some info I got on this windshield sign. What does it represent? Can anyone give more details on it?
Now it's visible... This post has been edited by bansaraba on June 30, 2011 12:41 pm |

Uploaded with ImageShack.us The white square on the windshield was a mark for a military requisitioned vehicle. AFAIK it was standard for all the trucks and buses of the army, it was not a branch or unit symbol. |

So it was used from 1941 to 1945?

Yes.
There is a mark on the side of the vehicle that could be a unit symbol, but it's not possible to figure out from this perspective. |

It is the coat of arms of Brasov, also the emblem of the local transportation company (Autobuze Comunale Brasov) until 1939. |

I've seen today an old footage of a Romanian official car bearing a white M inside a square in the same position on the windshield. It could mean Minister/Ministru.
Does anyone know any more signs like these? |
