I search more information regarding the events occured on
Sept 28,1943 at the port of Constanza from the Rumanian
expert point of view as the book Marina Romana in Razboiul
2 mondial containing major and critical errors.

To recap, 6 A-20's Boston of 36 MTAP were dispatched to torpedo targets
at Constanza harbour from Gelenjik and a 7th for RECON purposes.

While flying most of the route at the deck to avoid Radar detection,
3 were lost at Constanza due to either flack and AAR, and
3 returned with major damages to various airfields in Crimea
The 7th which shot recon photos at 15'000 ft over Constanza
returned unscaved to Evpatoria or Katcha.

The Rumanian book wrongly indicating the types as DB-3F's and
sketching wrong crash sites as well wrong losses.

I would like to determine accurate crash locations of the 2 Bostons
as the 3rd seems to have hit a tank farm NNW of the target
on a Taran type action and determine which AAR SQD attacked the
formation from the East while the Bostons were approaching the port.

Also where was the gunner and the single POW detained in Rumania
as the Russian archives have no details and if anyone can can post photos
of the debris and personal belongings of the KIA airmen exibited at Constanza
Naval museum .

Thank you.

From a russian text :
http://www.airwar.ru/history/av2ww/soviet/.../konstanca.html

The "Boston's" were observed by a german hydroplane (BV 138 or Do 24) and Constantza was alarmed. In fight were IAR 80's / 53 Sq. and the antiaircraft artillery (ships and coast).
About the raid, Soviet data and the data of Romanians and Germans differ dramatically... Romanians claim their fighters shot down three IL-4 and anti-aircraft guns, other two planes. Another plane emergency landed, the pilot and navigator shoted themselves, one man captured (the crew Dyukova).
Anyway, back to its base was only one plane, and one managed to return to another airport in the Caucasus, with more than 300 holes.
