The "B" was no longer produced from late-1941/early-1942. Romania needed the Ju 87 for the Stalingrad and River Don battle areas, respectively from the Summer of 1942 onwards. By then only the Ju 87 D was in widespread use and the remaining Ju 87 B were retired or upgraded.

To solve the issue for a dive bomber Romania made a compromise with IAR 80 fighter converted as dive bomber renamed IAR 81 BoPi ( used in Stalingrad)

---------------------------------------------

The confusion appeared because of the Romanian pilots at Krosno for Ju-87 training. The training was on Ju-87B. They took pictures which appeared in contemporary publications as Romanian pilots with Ju-87B. In these photographs the plane markings are not visible, being shot in the area around the engine.
